What "halal-friendly" actually means in our kitchen

We use the term "halal-friendly" deliberately. Here's exactly what that covers — and what it doesn't:

What we do

What we don't claim

The honest take: the vast majority of customers asking for "halal" catering mean "please don't serve pork or alcohol, and use halal-slaughtered meat." That's exactly what we do. If your situation calls for a stricter standard, message us and we'll be straight with you about whether we're the right fit.

Halal catering FAQs

Is Mini Panjab Catering officially MUIS halal-certified?

We describe ourselves as halal-friendly, not MUIS halal-certified. Our kitchen does not handle pork or alcohol, and we source non-veg meats from suppliers who provide halal-slaughtered chicken and mutton. If you need a MUIS-certified caterer for a strict religious requirement, please tell us up-front so we can advise honestly.

What does halal-friendly actually mean here?

Three things: (1) no pork or pork-derived ingredients enter our kitchen; (2) no alcohol is used in cooking or served at events; (3) chicken and mutton come from suppliers who confirm halal slaughter. Cross-contamination at the supplier level is outside our direct control, which is why we don't claim full MUIS certification.

Do you cater Muslim weddings, akika, and family events?

Yes — for weddings, akika, milad, and family functions where the host needs a halal-friendly North Indian / Punjabi menu without pork or alcohol on premises.

Can the entire menu be vegetarian?

Yes — fully vegetarian Punjabi menus are routine for us. Many of our daily tiffin customers eat veg-only.

What about no-onion-no-garlic or Jain food?

Yes — confirm the requirement at quote stage. We prepare these in separate utensils where the dietary need is strict.

Do you deliver halal-friendly tiffins to Muslim worker dormitories?

Yes. Many of our dorm catering customers explicitly need halal-friendly meals. Share the dorm address and headcount on WhatsApp for a custom plan.
